LAKE TRAVIS EDUCATION FOUNDATION

FUNDING
STAFF POSITIONS

LTEF is launching a new initiative to support teachers and students in even bigger ways. Why?

23%

Approximately 23% (approximately $30 million) of Lake Travis property tax dollars never make it to our classrooms because the State of Texas recaptures them to fund other districts, charter schools and vouchers.

82%

With 82% of the district’s operating budget dedicated to personnel, the difference is our teachers. By funding vital teacher and staff positions, LTEF hopes to bridge the gap between inadequate state funding and desired staffing levels.

100%

LTEF is the only organization that can fund additional teacher and staff positions for our district. 100% of your LTEF donations stay in the district.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

This year LTEF is proud to announce a significant expansion of the foundation’s mission to include funding district staff positions in addition to its long-standing support for classroom grants and student scholarships.

This change reflects both the reality of Texas school finance and the urgent needs of our district. At the request of Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null, LTEF is now positioned to help maintain quality programs and retain talented educators in Lake Travis ISD.

For the 2025-2026 school year, LTEF has funded $250,000 in order to save 7 full time staff positions.  A historic first step in our new mission.  We are just getting started and with the support of the community we hope to increase this for a greater impact in 2026-2027.

"This amendment reflects the reality of today's funding environment.  Our community expects exceptional education for Lake Travis students, and this change allows the foundation to directly address the most urgent needs of our schools."
