LTEF 40th Anniversary: Why Not a Gala?

If you’re here, you may be wondering why this year’s event looks a little different from our traditional Gala.

The LTEF Gala has long been an institution in Lake Travis. Our very first fundraiser was held at the high school in 1986 - a wonderful community event that was meaningful, effective, and modest in cost. Nearly four decades later, the landscape of public education has changed significantly, and we must continue to respond thoughtfully and responsibly, always keeping our mission at the forefront of every decision we make.

At a time when neighboring districts are closing schools and cutting programs, we are grateful to be in a strong position - and we intend to steward that strength wisely so it endures for years to come. We are here to bridge the funding gap.

Why a Benefit Concert?

A traditional Gala typically involves a seated dinner, a lengthy program, and a live auction - all necessary to keep guests engaged long enough to raise funds. These events are very costly to produce for our volume of guests, and, increasingly, do not guarantee a strong return on investment.

So, this year, instead of a Gala, we are hosting a 40th Anniversary Benefit Concert - a joyful, high-energy evening designed to maximize both impact and accessibility. With a lower ticket price and no live auction, the night focuses on celebration, connection, and meaningful ways to support our mission.

Guests can expect:

  • Live music from the Spazmatics
  • Student participation
  • Fun activations and photo moments
  • Plenty of dancing Complimentary drinks

We believe celebration and impact can - and should - go hand in hand. Most importantly, this is a night to celebrate 40 years of excellence and the community that made it all possible. It will still be a fundraiser with a silent auction & raise the paddles.

Our Mission - Evolving to Meet the Moment

Our mission remains as vital as ever, but the way we invite people to support it must continue to evolve.

As part of this evolution, LTEF has expanded its mission to include funding critical teaching and staff positions. This important step helps us attract and retain exceptional educators while sustaining the level of excellence Lake Travis ISD is known for.

To support this expanded mission, we launched Cornerstone, a capital campaign led by a select group of visionary donors committed to multi-year support. Cornerstone Partners directly invest in educators, strengthen staff retention, and help ensure the long-term success of Lake Travis ISD—including the opening of our new high school. We launched this program recently & are thrilled with the traction we have with wonderful donors aligned to our mission.

A Celebration of Impact - and What Comes Next

It is a moment to gather, reflect on how far we’ve come, and look ahead together—while continuing to fund teacher grants and support teaching positions across the district.

We are profoundly grateful to the supporters who have carried LTEF through the past four decades. Your generosity has shaped classrooms, empowered teachers, and transformed countless student experiences.

As we look ahead, we invite you to celebrate with us—and to be part of what comes next.

Thank you for believing in education and helping us build a future that honors our past while boldly embracing what lies ahead.

We still very much need your support:

  • Donate what you can, monthly giving really helps… If every family in the district gave $365 per student, we would fully bridge the funding gap.
  • Attend our events
  • Volunteer your time
  • Bid on silent auction items - you do not need to attend the event to bid
